Last Chance for "Changing Role of Asian Women In Hollywood"

From the very first moment Hollywood laid eyes on the beautiful Anna May Wong, American cinema has portrayed Asian women through a narrow lens influenced by western biases. Join Asian Women in Business for a short-film highlighting the battle Asian women face to preserve an individual and authentic voice in an entertainment industry bunkered down by cliches. The film will be followed by a panel discussion focused on debunking Asian women stereotypes and the success or failure of such efforts within the broader context of a national media and Hollywood. Wine and movie food provided.

Next week! AWIB Summer Ice Cream Tasting

image

Ice Cream, sparkling wine, stunning views and great company - all this and more at the AWIB rooftop summer networking event.  Indulge your taste buds with flavors such as Zen Butter, Almond Cookie, Strawberry Moon and Barkeater while taking in the Manhattan Cityscape on an outdoor terrace.  Cool off on a summer evening, take in the sunset and treat yourself to delicious ice cream brought to you by Asian American artisanal ice cream makers.

Lastly, delight the inner child in you by partaking in the candy station featuring old fashioned sweets and fill your gift bag with delectable goodies as a parting gift in remembrance of this fun-filled summer’s night.

Adirondack Creamery - Makers of rich, creamy and flavorful ice cream that is all natural and made from pure and simple ingredients.  This premium ice cream is locally produced to minimize to carbon footprint.

Chinatown Ice Cream Factory - Established over 30 years ago, Chinatown Ice Cream Factory is an institution and is known for its quality homemade ice cream made fresh with an exotic Chinese twist.

AWIB thanks Oriental Trading Company, our official Fun Sponsor, for the candy station and So Dam Hot for the hot dog sliders.
