2011 AWIB Highlights
2011 marked AWIB’s 16th successful year of helping Asian women achieve their entrepreneurial goals and advance professionally in their chosen fields. From seminars on how to start a business, to corporate leadership development, AWIB members and supporters enjoyed a variety of networking events and learning experiences geared towards helping them develop new skills, meet the right people and enhance their work as professionals and entrepreneurs. In 2012, we will continuously strive to encourage and develop Asian women leaders in business.
AWIB’s educational class Marketing: For Today’s Small Business was held on April 24 at Microsoft in NYC. Small business entrepreneurs on a limited budget learned about the most cost effective marketing strategies. Strategy Director, Dhara Naik from Likeable Media, showed attendees how to use social media to bring in sales. Real world examples combined with an interactive workshop allowed attendees to put their new knowledge into use. Particular attention was paid to navigating the changing array of marketing and social media tools to achieve results in niche businesses.
